Installation

PayPal Express Checkout extension has two part: the component zip file and the plugin zip file. Once you download this extension zip file, you need to extract it first. You will get two files: com_paypalexpresscheckout.zip and paypalexpresscheckout_plugin.zip. After that, you can install them one by one.

1. Log in your Joomla website administrator page and go to your extensions installation page
2. Choose com_paypalexpresscheckout.zip and click "Upload & Install" button
3. Make sure your component installation is successful
4. Choose paypalexpresscheckout_plugin.zip and click "Upload & Install" button in the same page
5. Make sure your plugin installation is successful

 

Extension Configuration

Now you can configure the extension with your PayPal API username, PayPal API password and PayPal signature. The following steps will show you how to get your PayPal information. Please keep in mind that PayPal API username and PayPal API password are different from your PayPal login username and password.

1. Log in your PayPal account
2. Go to profiles page
3. Go to "Selling Tools" section and find "API access"
4. Choose "Request API credentials" in API access page
5. Choose "Request API signature" option and click "Agree and Submit" button
6. Copy your API username, API password and API signature for later configuration

 

After we get the PayPal API username, API password and API signature, please configure this Joomla extension by following steps.

1. Move your mouse on components menu and click "PayPal Express Checkout"
2. Click "Option" button on the top left side
3. Fill in your API username, password, and signature from your PayPal account
4. Choose Testing mode if you want to test this component with PayPal sandbox account; If you set to "Yes", please make sure that you are using PayPal sandbox account API username, password and signature
5. Click "Save & Close"

Enable PayPal Express Checkout Plugin

In the first step, we have installed a plugin. In this step, we need to make sure it is enabled. You can also customize the "buy button" images by setting an image url. Currently, we suggest you to leave it blank, it will use the default PayPal button.

1. Click "Extensions" menu and choose "Plugin Manager"
2. Search plugin by name "paypal" and you will find the plugin if you installed it successfully just now
3. Check if the plugin is enabled (red cross icon means it is not enabled)
4. Enable the plugin by click on "red cross" icon
5. Click on the plugin name and configure it (optional)

Product Manager

After finishing all the configuration job, let's talk about how to add your digital products. PayPal Express Checkout Joomla extension provides a easy product management system.
